This is a lovely beach, with pay for parking and a traffic signal to get you across the street. The parking is managed by the county. On returning from the sand and water there are outdoor showers where you can remove most of the salt and sand before returning to your vehicle.
It was nice. Where we were, you could park in a little parking lot and walked across the street to the beach. Plenty of room to spread out. The water was a little merky, but I'm sure that's from all the storms we have had in the Gulf this year.
Came here mid week, midday during school year a few times in last 10yearsto park and to beach across street. At that time it is always chill and just the perfect amount of equal spaced people. Cheap and calm.
One of the easiest areas to park on Gulf Boulevard and walk to the beach! Generally fewer people than other nearby beaches, an on demand stoplight to cross the street, restrooms, drink vending, and the hourly parking is reasonable. At the beach you'll find foot showers for rinsing your sandy feet and showers to rinse head to toe. See the same great sunsets, and make it easier on yourself. Are you an ice cream lover like me? As a local I recommend a quick drive or walk to Haze Homemade Ice Cream after sunset :) Any excuse for ice cream! (just a bit north on Gulf Blvd)
Great little beach not overrun by tourists. It's not Clearwater white sand beach, but it's clean with a decent amount of space. Limited parking limits over crowding. Decent bathroom at parking lot and rinse off showers along path. No life guards or food, but restaurants are within walking distance.
